Joseph Rogers journed with his father Thomas Rogers on the Mayflower to Plymouth. He was baptized 23 Jan 1602/03 in Watford, Northamptonshire, England. He was granted land in 1623, one acre for himself, and another for his father who died in the firs sickness of Plymouth, shortly after they arrived. It is likely that he lived with William Bradford. Bradford, who was an orphan himself, was known for raising orphans himself. This is also shown by the 1627 cattle division list, on which he appears with Governor William Brandford.

In 1633, Joseph was made a freeman and the same year paid tax with his brother John. Joseph had moved to Duxbury, and on 2 Mar 1635/36, he was given a permit to operate a ferry across the Jones River. He was granted thirty acres of land on 5 Nov 1638, and was appointed constable at Duxbury, 3 Mar 1639/40.

A group grant was made of fifty acres at North River (Marshfield) on 6 Apr 1640, which includes his and his brother John names. The last record of Joseph in Duxbury was for 31 Jul 1646. The next record found is for Joseph is now in Nusett, now Eastham, 1 Jun 1647, where he was proposed as lieutenant of the trained band 1 Jun 1647. Other records of Eastham show that he served on the Council of War, Jun-Oct 1647, and he was selectman in 1670.

His will was written 2 Jan 1677/78 and was proved 5 Mar 1677/1678. He died sometime between those two dates close to his seventy-fifth birthday. He was buried at the Old Cove Burial Ground, Eastham, Massachusetts.
