~George Ormerod's The History of County Palatine and City of Chester, Vol III, "Bromely of Badington Pedigree," Collated with Inqus. Plea and Recognizance Rolls, pp. 371-372 , gives the name of John's wife as Joane, and they were the parents of William de Bromlegh who married Annabel Chetelton.

~Collins's Peerage of England, page 249, John de Bromley of Badynton is given as the son of Randulph de Bromley. John's wife was named Joan, and their sons were named Walter, William and Roger.

In Ian Bromley's Bromley: A Midlands Family History, p. 31, John Bromley is called Yeoman and baliff of Nantwich, son of Randle de Bromlegh and gran son of Richard. John married Joanna about 1355 and their issue were:
Wlater, Eldest son and heir from whom the Bromley's of Barkway, Herts are thought to have descended.
Joanna, married Hugh Lee of Chester.
Roger, from whom the Bromley's of Bakesford are Descended.
William, from whom the Bromley's of Badington are descended.
