William, son of William Fitz Alan, had livery of his Shropshire Barony about 1175. About this time, he married a daughter of Hugh de Lacy of Ludlow and Ewyas. Lacy's daughter was probably a mere infant at the time her father made the marriage contract.

Daughter married William Fitz Alan, son of William Fitz Alan Sheriff of Shropshire and Isabel de Say. (William Fitz Alan was born in 1154 in Oswestry, Shropshire, England and died in 1210 in Clun, Shropshire, England ⁷²¹.)
