Raymond IV Berenger, born about 1113 and died 6 Aug 1162, the Marquis of Barcelonia, son of Raymond III Berenger, Count of Barcelona, by his 3rd wife, Dulce de Gevaudan, heiress of Provence, daughter of Gilbert, Count of Gevauden, vicomté de Carlet, Count of Province and Gerberga of Provence, Countess of Arles, daughter of Fulk (Bertrand) Count of Provence. Raymond IV Berenger married Petronilla of Aragon, daughter of Romiro, King of Aragon and his wife Agnes of Poitou and Aquitaine. Petronilla and Raymond IV were the parents of Alfonso II, King of Aragón.

Ramon IV Berengar inherited the county of Barcelona from his father Ramon Berenguer III on August 19, 1131. On 11 August 1137, he was married to the infant Petronilla of Aragón, aged one at the time. Her father, Ramiro II of Aragón the Monk, who sought Barcelona's aid against Alfonso VII of Castile, abdicated on November 13 that same year, leaving his kingdom to Petronilla and Ramon Berenguer.

Ramón married Petronilla Ramírez Reina de Aragón, daughter of Ramiro II Sánchez "the Monk" of Aragón, King of Aragón and Agnes de Aquitaine, on 11 Aug 1137.160 (Petronilla Ramírez Reina de Aragón was born about 1135 in Huesca 160 and died on 17 Oct 1174 in Barcelona, Catalán 160,180.)
