Sir Nicholas Carew, son of Sir Thomas Carew & Elizabeth Bonville, daughter of Sir. William Bonville, of Shute, Devonshire, died 25 May 1447 and was the Baron of Carew of Molesford. Sir Nicholas Carew married Joan Courtenay.

Sir Nicholas Carreu, Knight, was the son of Sir Thomas de Carru and Elizabeth Bonvill. He married Joane, daughter of Sir Hugh Courtenay, Knight, by his first wife Philippa, daughter and heiress of Sir Warren of Haccomb Knight. Sir Nicolas and Joane had issue of Sir Thomas, Nicolas Carreu of Haccomb, Hugh, Alexander Careu of Anthoney & William Careu of Byry, from whom the Carewe of Crocum is descended. Sir Nicholas Carew died 3 May annon 25 King Henry VI.
