The parentage of Raymond de Toulouse is confirmed by a charter dated 16 Jun 918, which records an audience at Ausonne in the diocesis of Carcassonnne held by "Aridemandus episcopus sedis Tolosæ civitatis...missus advocatus Raymundo comite Tolosæ civitatis et marchio" with the consent of "Odone comite genitore suo" [Histoire Générale de Languedoc 2nd Edn. Tome II, Preuves, CLXIII, p. 709, and 3rd Edn., Tome V, Preuves, Chartes et Diplômes, 43, col. 137]. The Vita Sancti Geraldi Aureliacensis Comitis records that "Raimundum…comitem filium…Odonis" captured "nepotem domni Geraldi…Benedictum, Tolosæ…vicecomitem" and that "Geraldus…cum sorore sua Avigerna" requested his release [Odo Cluniacensis Abbas, De Vita Sancti Geraldi Aureliacensis Comitis, Liber II, XXVIII, Patrologia Latina, Vol. 133, col. 0685D].
Raimund married Guinhilde de Urgell, daughter of Wilfred I "el Velloso" Conde de Barcelona Besalu, Gerona, Osona, y Cardena and Guinidilda. (Guinhilde de Urgell was born about 895 in France and died in 962 180.)
