Odo was granted £20 a year from the royal manor of Braunton at midsummer, 1174 and again in 1189. He appears again on the Pipe Roll as holding this same land in 1201.

Otho de Carrio, son of William, had issue William, unto whom King John, in the 14th year of his reign, made a grant of Mullesford, reciting the grant formerly made unto Gerald by King Henry I, in which Herny I granted unto Gerald, the grandfather of Otho, father of the said William, which had issue Nicholas.

Otheus, Constable of Windsor, living in the time of Edward the confessor had a son named Walter, who was also Constable of Windsor. Walter married Gladys, daught of Rywallon ap Conwyn, Prince of North Wales. One their sons was Giraldus de Windsor, second son, Constable of Pembroke, to whom King Henry I gave the Manor of Moulesford in Berkshire. Giraldus married Nesta, daughter of Rees ap Theodor Maur Prince of Wales. .William Fitz Gerald, eldest son, lived at Pembroke and died there in 1173. William married Maria de Montgomery, daughter of Stephen, Constable of Cardigan, ancestor of the Montgomery of Ireland. Among their children was Odo Carrio, now called Carew.

King Richard gave Branton in Devonshire to Odo Carew. Odo also gave Rebbared in Carew to the Knights Templars in 4 King John. Odo married Margaret, daughter of Richardard son of Tancred.
