bullet  General Notes:

Sir William Pole in Collections Towards a Description of the Count of Devon, says that Katherine Huddersfield was the daughter of Elizabeth Bossum & calls Sir William Huddersfield second wife, Margaret, daughter of Philip Courtenay, of Powderham, widow of Thomas Rogers. Richardson's Magna Carta Ancestry, p.171 gives the same information and cites Pole.

The Visitation of the County of Somerset, 1623, p. 126, calls her Katherine f. Will. Courtenay of Powdernam millitia, relicata Tho. Pomeroy millitis, and the mother of George Rogers. The Visit of Devon, has Catherine as the daughter of Sir Philip Courtney & Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Walter Hungerford.

The events below also have differing ancestory for Katherine Huddersfield and Katherine Courtaney. The questions remain, was Katheiner Hudderfield the daughter of her father's first or second wife? Was Katherine Courtenay the daughter or granddaughter of Sir Philip Courtenay? 1199,1209,1288
