John Fitz Roger, lord of Chewton was the third son of Sir Henry Fitz Roger, Knight and his wife Elizabeth de Holand. His issue were the heir to his older brothers. He married as first of five husbands, Alice, a minor whose parentage is unknown. Her only surviving children was her daughter with John Fitz Roger, Elizabeth, who married the son of her fifth husband, Sir William Bonvillle of Shute.
