Robert, father of Sir John d'Elville. was the son and heir of John de Daiville who was living in July 1228, and married. a daugther of Josceline de Louvain, by Agnes de Percy). [Patent Roll, 12 Hen. III, m. 3 d: Percy Cartulary, no. 14]. John was son and heir of Robert by Julian, his wife, living in Aug. 1202, who was son (or grandson) and heir of Robert de Daiville, to whom, as amico suo speciali, Nele d'Aubigny gave the vill of Egmanton.
