Robert, father of Sir John d'Elville. was the son and heir of John de Daiville who was living in July 1228, and married. a daugther of Josceline de Louvain, by Agnes de Percy). [Patent Roll, 12 Hen. III, m. 3 d: Percy Cartulary, no. 14]. John was son and heir of Robert by Julian, his wife, living in Aug. 1202, who was son (or grandson) and heir of Robert de Daiville, to whom, as amico suo speciali, Nele d'Aubigny gave the vill of Egmanton. 2) Analysis and cites by Rosie Bevan, showing that the holdings of Langford, co. Notts. of the maritagium (modified) of Robert de Daiville's first wife were NOT inherited by John de Daiville[2]
