The manor of Puttenham seems to have come into the possession of Hugh de Herdeburgh, [Duchy of Lanc. Ret. of Knts'. Fees, bdle. 2, No. 7] from whom it descended to his son Roger. Roger left two daughters, Ela and Isabel, who jointly held the manor in 1297-8. [Inq. p.m. 25 Edw. I, No. 51] From them it appears to have returned to the family of Puttenham.

William le Botiler married 1stly, before 1298, Beatrice, who was living in I305-06. William le Botiler married, 2ndly, before February 1315/6, Ela daughter and coheir of Roger de Herdeburgh. William le Botiler died 1334, before 14 September. His widow was living 5 July 1343, and died s.p.m.

Ela married William le Boteler Baron le Botlier, son of Sir William le Boteler Knight and Angharad verch Gruffydd.141 (William le Boteler Baron le Botlier was born on 11 Jun 1274 and died before 14 Sep 1334 in Wem, Shropshire, England 141.)
