Sir Adam de Everingham, of Laxton, Everingham, &c., son and heir, born 29 Aug 1279, at Sherburn, and baptised there. Having proved his age before the King, he did homage and had livery of his father's lands, 6 Dec 1300. He did homage and swore fealty to three successive Archbishops of York for his lands in Everingham, &c., 4 Apr 1302, 19 Sep 1306, and 28 Feb 1317/8. He was knighted by the Prince of Wales, 22 May 1306, at Westminster. He was summoned for Military Service against the Scots from 16 Dec 1295 to 22 May 1319 to a Council, May 1324, and to Parliament from 4 Mar 1308/9 to 16 Oct 1315 by writs directed Ade de Everingham, whereby he is held to have become Lord Everingham. He entailed nearly all his estates.

Sir Adam de Everingham married, 1stly, before 12 Jan 1307/8, Clarice. She was living 25 Aug 1321. He married, 2ndly, before Michaelmas 1326, Margaret, widow of Sir John Deiville, of Egmanton, Notts, and Adlingfleet, co. York, who died 1325/6. She was living in February 1333/4, but died before him. He died shortly before 8 May 1341, aged 61.
