Margaret was a daughter of Charles II of Naples and Mary of Hungary, the daughter of King Stephen V of Hungary. Her father ceded her the County of Anjou as her dowry. She married Charles of Valois, a son of Philip III of France, at Corbeil on 16 August 1290.
