Charles Cawley's Medieval Lands Baudouin signed a charter dated 1 Apr 988 under which he donated to Saint-Pierre de Gand. He was come de Boulogne. He married Aledia, daughter of Arnulf count of Holland and his wife Liutgard de Luxembourg.

Baudouin married Adele of Ghent, daughter of Arnoul "the Great" Count of Frisia and Luitgard von Luxembourg.
