Richard Comyn
died between 1176 and 1182, when his widow married Malcom, Earl of Atholl. Richard married Hextild, about 1145 , daughter of Huctred of Tynedale by his wife Bethoc, the daughter of Donald Bane.

Henry III, in 1262, confirmed to John Comyn of Badenoch certains land in Tynedale that had been granted to his great grandfather, Richard Comyn and Hextilda his wife, daughter of Huctred son of Waldeve, by King David and Henry his son. [Hodgson's Northumberland, v. ii, part 3, pl 396, Hexham Priory II, The Black Book (Surtees Society), pp. 84-85] The existence of Huctred, son of Waldeve is proved by the Pipe Roll of 1130, which shows that he was at that time a man of position in Northumberland.

Hextilda married Richard Comyn, son of William Comyn Chancellor of Scotland and Unknown 160,871,882.,1275 (Richard Comyn was born about 1120 in Badenoch, Inverness-shire, Scotland and died in 1177-1182 in Badenoch, Inverness-shire, Scotland 525.)
