Thomas Fitz Marice married, as his first wife, Rohesia or Rose, daughter of Richard de St. Michael, Lord of Rheban, and heiress of Athy and Woodstock. Thomas and Rohesia had one son, John, his seccessor. Thomas married, as his second wife, Margaret, daugther of Thomas Lord Mandeville. His third wife was Mary, daughter of Theobald (Walter) Butler.

Richard de St. Michael, Lord of Rheban, founded a priory here in the reign of King John, under the invocation of St. John, or rather of St. Thomas, for Crouched Friars; the priory was situated beyond the bride.

(footnote - Rheban was brought into the Kildare family by the marriage of Rose, daughter of this Richard de St. Michael, with the first Earl of Kildare.)
