William Payne and Agnes Neves of Lavenham were the parents of William Payne, baptized at Lavenham 20 Feb 1597/8 and later of Ipswich and Boston, Massachusetts, as well as the parents of three daughters who migrated to New England: Elizabeth Payne, baptized at Lavenham 11 Sep 1586, married there 9 Jun 1605 to William Hammond; Phebe Payne, baptized at Lavenham 1 Apr 1594 and married there 5 Jun 1621 to John Page; and Dorothy Payne, born about 1598 and married about 1616, to Simon Eyre.

The will of Ann (Agnes) Neves Payne of Lavenham, co. Suffolk, widow, dated 8 Dec 1635. "To be buried in Lavenham churchyard. To my son Richarch Payne 10s. To my daghter Susan Payne my capital messuage in the market place at Lavenham, in the tenure of one Thomas Dister and myself. Executrix and residuary legatee: My daughter Susan Payne." Proved 25 Apr 1646 [Archdeaconry of Sudbury, book 55, fo. 291]

The testatrix, Ann (or Agnes) Neves Payne, was the widow of William Payne of Lavenham and the mother of William Payne and his married sisters who emigrated to New England. Agnes was buried at Lavenham 8 Oct 1645.
