6 Mar 1708, Santa Fé. Juan de Tafoya Altamirano, native of El Real de Talpujagua, widowed of Josefa Pacheco, son of Juan de Tafoya Altamirana de Estrada and Felipa Taguada de Ulloa, native of Talpujagua, and doña María Durán y Chaves, daughter of don Fernando Durán y Chaves and doña Lucía Hurtado.

Witnesses: José de Quintana, notary, Miguel de la Vega y Coca (22), español.

Imprediment brought up by Clara de Chaves, wife of Juan de la Mora Pineda, and publicly known as the natural daughter of Capitán don Fernando Durán y Chaves; she claims that she had had relations with the room, and which was known to his brother Cristóbal Tafoy and María de Herrera; Clara's mother (not named) testifies that don Fernando had impregnated her as a girl. Groom denies Clara's charges, as witnessed by Juan Varela.

11 Dec 1692, Real de San Lorenzo, Juan de Tafoya Altamirano, 21, native of the royal mines of Talpuxagua, and resident of the Real de San Lorenso of this jurisdiction of El Pado del Río del Norte, realm of New Mexico, son of Juad de Tafoya Altimirano and Felipa Tauguada de Uyo, with Josepha Pacheco, 25, widow of José Baca, deceased, who has been dead for more than five years, native of the villa of Santa Fé, New Mexico, and resident of the said Real of San Lorenzo, daughter of Juan Pacheco and Antonia de Aratia.

Witnesses: Juan de Alderete, 18, resident of Real de San Lorenso; Nicolás García, 30, resident of El Paso, and native of the royal mines of Talpuxaua; Francisco López, 45, a Resident of the said Real; Agustín Luxán, 33, a resident of the said Real.

There being no impediment, the couple was married the couple of 18 Dec 1692. Witnesses were Tiburcio de Ortega and Francisco de Anaya.
