Luís Cháves married a Bárbara Yturrieta on April 20, 1742. We know that he was a son of Nicolás from a 1838 pre-nuptial investigation in which he was designated as a brother of Vicente Cháves (son of Nicolás), and the father of an Ysabel Cháves who was a first cousin of Vicente's son Francisco Cháves.
