John Fleg, son of William Fleg, and the father of another John Fleg, was born about 1340. He held lands of the Manor of Rougholme, probably in East Brandenham, and also in the adjacent parish of East Dereham. There are few records left behind for this John Fleg, except for two. On 14 Apr 1368, at a court in the Manor of Rougholme, the jury present John Fleg and his brother Thomas for trespass on the lord's meadow. The second, John Fleg was assessed 4d at East Dereham in Mitford Hundred, Norfolk, in a poll tax of 2 Richard II (1378). It is likely that he died about 1395.
