Sir John de Fleg, Knight was born about 1190. He succeeded, in about 1217, to the Manor Fleg Hall in Somerton, Winterton, Waxham and the Manor of Kirkhall in Sall. He is mentioned along with his father, another Sir John de Fleg, sometime between 1217-1228 in records concerning land held in Melewade. They are again mentioned on 23 Feb 1238/9 in a deed of lands in Oulton. By deed made on 2 Feb 1239/40, Sir John de Fleg, the younger is mentioned again. Sir John de Fleg shows up in the records again in 1240.

Sir John de Fleg received his knighthood in 1239, by enjoyed possession of his ancestral estates only a few years due to fact that he died before 1242. He married, about 1215, a woman named Beatrice, who survived him. Their known sons were Simon, William and Philip.
