Thomas Payne, son of Thomas Payne, was born 18 Jan 1612/13, probably in Wreath, England. He died in Dedham, Massachusetts on 2 Aug 1686. He came to the Americas with his parents on the Mary Anne, in Aug 1697, and was appointed his father's executor of his father's will, 10 Apr 1638.
Thomas Payne was married to Rebecca Ware sometime before 17 Oct 1640. Thomas left Salem around the time he married, and moved to Dedham. The records show that he became a proprietor of Dedham, 8 Nov 1640, and the records of the Firt Church in Dedham states (p. 25) that "Thomas Paine and his wife Rebecka were received into ye comunion of the church of ye 2dm. [Apr] 1641." He was made a freeman of the Massachusetts Bay Colony on 2 Jun 1841.
